Job Title - Job Captain
Vida Design is a full-service boutique interior design firm in Portland Oregon specializing in urban multi-family, commercial and hospitality projects. We are looking to expand our team by bringing on a talented designer who demonstrates an excellent design sensibility, creativity and has strong technical skills.
Requirements:
4-year bachelor's degree program, 3 years minimum experience
Technical abilities in Revit, AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, SketchUp, Enscape, Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet.
Ability to work on multiple projects, in multiple phases, and a variety of scale simultaneously
Enjoys both taking responsibility and team collaboration
Has worked in all phases of design from start to finish on multiple projects at Vida or at a comparable firm
Excellent graphic design, organizational, time management, and both written and verbal communication skills
Ability to produce a Construction Documentation (CD) set from start to finish, including team delegation, AMEP Coordination, and self-redlining
Construction Administration (CA) experience on a large-scale project and the ability to handle CA responsibilities independently
Knowledge of building codes and guidelines, interior materials and finishes, specifications and construction techniques
An appreciation for collaboration

The ability to successfully build and maintain relationships both in house and with clients
A professional appearance and conduct with a friendly and outgoing approach
The ability to adjust to changing priorities, deadlines and schedules
Responsibilities:
Assists the Project Manager (PM) in drawing coordination, scheduling, meeting management, and internal team planning
Organize personal schedule on a weekly basis and work with the PM on personal 4-week outlook
Ability to work between technical and design responsibilities simultaneously
Works independently or with minor oversight by the PM
Assists in conceptual design and programming with the project leadership team
Assists in implementing the design presentation document format as directed by the PM
Assist in developing and documenting 3-D modeling, material and finish palettes, lighting, equipment, accessories and plumbing packages
Attends key presentations with the Client, taking detailed notes, formatting them into meeting minutes, and distributing them to the meeting attendees. Maintain and organize meeting notes on Vida Server for our records and future reference
Integral member of the drafting team during the Construction Documentation (CD) Phase, assisting in team delegation, ensuring the design intent is incorporated and clearly communicated, and technical details are well executed and communicated to a buildable standard
Maintains order of drawings and documents and is the primary liaison with the AMEP Consultants, Contractors, Fabricators, and specialty Contractors
Maintains all files from consultants on Vida Server with direction from the PM for our records and future reference
Participate in Construction Administration (CA) activities and site visits. Ability to address technical issues and maintain design vision thorough-out the CA Phase
